AllSync 4 Documentation ➝ Service Tool

Setup

Here you can install the scheduler as a Windows service.

Startup Type

The following startup types can be defined for the service:
  • Automatic
The service is started automatically when the computer boots.
  • Manual
The service must be started manually by the user.
  • Disabled
    The service is disabled.

License

Here you define which AllSync license should be used for the service.

Login Credentials

Here you define which account the service should be installed with:
  • Local System Account
The local system account of Windows has no access to network resources and can therefore only access local storage media.
  • User Account
    • The user account must have the Log on as a service permission in order for the service to be started with this account. This permission is automatically assigned to the user account when the service is installed. Alternatively, you can assign it manually:
Control Panel → Administrative Tools → Local Security Policy → Local Policies → User Rights Assignment → Log on as a service.
    • The service should be installed with a user account that has access to the network shares used in the profiles.
    • When using a domain user account, the domain name must also be specified before the username: "Domain\UserAccount".

  • Install
This button installs the scheduler as a Windows service.
  • Uninstall
This button uninstalls the scheduler service.
  • Windows Services Management
Opens the Windows Services Management console.
