Right click (Directory context menu) No longer appearing.
Right click (Directory context menu) No longer appearing.
Right click (Directory context menu) No longer appearing.
Since update 4.5.35 the directory right click icon does not show up anymore.
Have just updated to 4.5.37 and has the same issue.
I've been into the options and clicked it on and off and on again as this used to work but now it does not.
I've checked the context menu items to see if it was just un-checked but it's just not there.
Is there a reg fix to force then context menu to reset it?
Many thanks.

Re: Right click (Directory context menu) No longer appearing.
Uninstall AllDup and reinstall the latest version of AllDup again. Does this help?
Which Windows version do you use?

Re: Right click (Directory context menu) No longer appearing.
Hi, I'm running windows 10 64bit and fully up to date.
I uninstalled and reinstalled and the problem still remains. the shellx reg shows that its there and registered. I also checked it with sysinternals autoruns64 and the context line is clearly there with some other entries from alldup and all checked to appear. However it still doesn't show up.
I also just did a clean install on my laptop and the issue seems to persist.
I've tested other right click entries and they all work fine. I don't see what could be blocking it. The only thing I haven't tried is adding it manually.
Thanks

We cant reproduce this problem here with windows 10 64bit.
The problem must be caused by something unique to your system.

Re: Right click (Directory context menu) No longer appearing.
Hi, this has been bugging me for days. I did everything to find the issue thinking it was me.
so, I uninstalled it and went back to version 4.51 which I had on an old backup.
Installed it Hey presto menu appears every time, on all 3 of my pcs.
upgrade it to latest version, gone.
checked all the reg entries and they are there but do not show up. I've checked the group policy, no restrictions on the rightclickmenu.
checked the reg entry for same rightclick setting, reg key is fine set to 0.
Nothing has worked and my 3 pcs which are not all the same, and haven't got issues.
so this leaves me with 2 conclusions,
1 there is something wrong with alldup reg settings (they also look very different to all other context settings)
2 in Microsoft's latest update they have "fixed" something.
don't know if that helps but i'm hoping it does.
Many thanks

AllDup 4.5.37:
Please check if the files "config.xml" and "KuShellExtension64.dll" are present in the following folder: C:\ProgramData\AllDup
They are necessary for the windows explorer context menu.

Hi, yes they are, the dir looks like this :
FEShlExt.dll 1081k 21/08/2008
KuShellExtension64.dll 202k 04/03/2023
FastExplorer.ini 5k 21/03/2023
FastExplorerENG.ini 5k 21/03/2023
config.xml 10k 21/03/2023
Do you need any others or the contents off them >
Thanks

Re: Right click (Directory context menu) No longer appearing.
Hi, the files were there on 4 5 33 which I showed in my last post. I just installed 4 5 37 and I was watching the dir and 3 files were removed
FastExplorer.ini
FastExplorerDEU.ini
FastExplorerENG.ini
Now it doesnt work.
so I copied those files from the backup I just made before updating, back into the dir and it instantly started working.
seems like an easy fix for you.
Thankyou very much.

Re: Right click (Directory context menu) No longer appearing.
Having done that though, the results of dup scans are severely messed up. Not accurate, listing every photo in the dir in the first result match.
so something is not right.
Thanks

Re: Right click (Directory context menu) No longer appearing.
The FastExplorer files are from version 4.5.33 (or below) and not used anymore since 4.5.35.
We have tested version 4.5.37 on two other computers with Windows 10 and cannot find any problems with the context menu.
Maybe a fresh install with no previous version of AllDup installed will help.

Re: Right click (Directory context menu) No longer appearing.
That's correct as I mentioned in my first post that I noticed the change when I installed 4 5 35.
I've just done a totally clean install of 4 5 33 and all seems well including no strange results from a scan.
So as per request I have just done a totally clean install with 3 5 37, the dir c:\programdata\alldup contains these 2 files
config.xml 10k 23/03/20223
KuShellExtension64.dll 202k 04/03/2023
the checkbox is ticked to include in context menu on install and is also still checked in options and IT DOES NOT WORK.

Re: Right click (Directory context menu) No longer appearing.
Don't know if it matters, but when you installed, did you install only for the current user, or for all users?
Might some other program that adds a context-menu item be interfering with AllDup's (on your end)?
