Re: Folder Duplicate

The original request of removing a complete folder can already be accomplished by the "select all files inside the folder structure of this file". Since the feature cannot remember or guess the folder that would be selected, it'd major pain for users when processing a high number of folders. First, ...

Re: Any way to compare Track Duration too?

The issue with using metadata to dedup similar is there's high number of false positives. Currently, AllDup does not allow for fast or easy sorting to find the needles in the haystack. Unless one is willing to export and build Excel View for each specific purpose. Secondly, duration test given ident...

Re: New Feature: Search Result Refresh

Does the remove non-existing actually scan the disk and remove just the result's orphaned reference? looking at the help file and there are no further details. Suppose there are 3 similar files in a group. If I moved 1 file from original folder (using Windows Explorer), and click on remove non-exist...

New Feature: Search Result Refresh

Currently, there's no way to refresh the result to reflect the underlying dataset change. It's also infeasible to re-run some search as it may take a few ten hours. Is it possible: 1. F5 to refresh the entire result set, only based on file availability/un-availability i.e. removed/moved files, witho...

Re: Search Result Grouping Enhancement

Maybe we will add a multi-column sorting style like this: https://www.grapecity.com/wijmo/demos/G ... umnsorting
Yes please and thank you. The FlexGrid would put AllDup way ahead of the curve.

Re: Search Result Grouping Enhancement

It's not exactly a flat list. If you sort by group, it will sort by the filename referenced by the group. However, if you sort by path, only the path within the group would change and the groups would remain unchanged. Is it possible to add tree view as an additional feature? introduce additional gr...

Re: Search Result Grouping Enhancement

From your screenshot, the ascending ordering on the path is hierarchical thus correct, when the file names are identical. From my screenshot, it shows path sorting is disrupted i.e. non-hierarchical when filenames are dis-similar. The only way this makes sense is that AllDup aggregates all files in ...

Re: Search Result Grouping Enhancement

It jumped from sub1 to sub2, then back to sub 1. It's expected when sorting by path, it goes sub1 then sub2 and not back again.

Re: Search Result Direct File Operations

This would be perfect, especially with the planned image thumbnail feature.

The Edit Hot Key allows the Control key so I can map these two file operations to Ctrl+X, Ctrl+V.

Re: Search Result Direct File Operations

Both if possible. Windows Explorer is now considered a tax to AllDup. It's slow, cut/paste can fail at times and it cost more clicks to specify the varying destination folder each time. It's the partial contributor why so much dup and similar files can accumulate over time. WYSIWYG is far more intui...

Re: Any way to compare Track Duration too?

Maybe just display in the search results but don't actually add to comparison? such a feature would work so great with video files too. Also, allow video file audio tracks to be compared in this way.

Re: Search Result Grouping Enhancement

Yes that's a very ideal case where it works.

However, in reality, similar dups come in this way:

It makes me wonder how the comparison is done because % similar is non-directional. So is it up to the sequence of discovery aka ascending folder structure?? Thanks.

Search Result Direct File Operations

I understand it's possible to use AllDup's existing functions or the Windows Explorer to move files between searched folders. But it'd be much faster to be able to select any number of files, cut, and select another folder within the search result and hit paste. This way, the moved files would autom...

Search Result Grouping Enhancement

Here's some possible enhancements to the result presentation: 1. Additional grouping by folder structure, for Folder1/Sub1 and Folder1/Sub2, introduce additional grouping by Folder 1, with no % Match, but with Size and # duplicates 2. Allow path to be the first column 3. Allow sort path by ascending...
